There are two products that we hope to produce as a part of our project, a magazine and a weekend club alternative which would also link to a program that would be implemented in churches. The weekend club alternative would give teenagers a weekend outlet that would not only keep them from taking part in worldly activities, but also enrich them while helping them build a closer relationship with God. It would resemble a Christian club but also include forums and discussions. there are lots of resources for you there in your own city. There are at least 5 Christian clubs in DFW – Out of these 3, Club 412 in Forth Worth would be the best one to contact, since they have told me that they want to help others get similar ministries going. There are more resource connections on http://www.kingdomspace.com Let me know if I can help further Andrew Jones Club Scenes and Church. Churches looking like clubs. The new service had the look and feel of a club, although more like a Comedy Club/Cafe than a music club. Club God Squad happened on San Francisco’s Haight Street every Friday night. which meant that at 2 or 3 am there would be a tidal wave of people coming out of nowhere to sample our club scene, and then they would be gone. The club never became a church. These days I prefer the house party over the club scene. I like living rooms better than dance floors, and many cool clubs are putting couches in their spaces to look and feel more like living rooms anyway.

But after that, we set afoot in this strange land of corruption and bribery! The boatride to Stung Treng was without further incidents - it would be about the only boattrip without incidents - and we arrived after 2 hours at about noon, with one thing in mind: to search for a boat towards the next town in line, which was Kratie (4 hours further down the Mekong). Economic rules were a bit more in our favour here as we managed to make two guys lower their prices against each other and found a french couple to be more numerous to bargain. So we were on the Mekong again in a small (too small?) boat - the Sampan type as always - , six fat Westerners ,their luggage and two Cambodians almost on top of each other. Problem was tik-tak time, it was already after 3 P.M., Kratie was 1h30 away with speedboat (2h30 with the boats we had had until then) and sunset here is just before 6, and I can assure you nights on the Mekong can be pretty dark !Once again no reaction until finally, one of the two (no, we didn’t allow the second one to go along !) returned with the submarine boat back to Stung Treng to get another boat.At 16u10, two speedboats arrived, one to look at the mess, the other one to get us to Kratie that same day, after we agreed to pay 80$ instead of 70$ (as the normal price for the speedboat was 200$, this was acceptable). And so we continued after all - incredible but true - in the direction of Kratie, not at all at ease because those turbo-boosted boats are the kind that you see flipping over on those T.V. We managed to pass the public boat 10 minutes before arriving at Kratie, after a crazy ride I wouldn’t want to revive even if paid a small fortune for it.But when entering Kratie port, those slimy Cambodian bastards had one more trick up their sleeves: our little boat stopped 250m from the big pier where the public boat would halt for 5 minutes a couple of moments later, and a hawker was already indicating that we would miss the public boat, that we could continue to charter this speedboat for a greaaaat price, and before we could react, our captain reversed the engine and left the shore !!! Untying the ropes that held the backpacks, crawling on yet another shore through the mud, sprinting fully loaded the 250m towards the main pier - the captain running after us for his money - ignoring ticket booth, check point and other annoyances, we made a final jump to the boat …

-ne An HSP Virtual Friend recently asked me if I had much experience with major relocations, and with choosing a place by intuitive feel, just because it seemed right. My overall account name here on Blogger was established under the moniker GlobalNomad, which should tell you a thing or two.If there is any wisdom I have gathered from this nomadic lifestyle, it is that there is a huge difference between going to a place because you want to, purely for the sake of the place itself, and going to a place for the sake of another person, or because you have to (i.e. It is still scary (especially for an HSP) to consider a major move across the country– but if you’re unencumbered (so to speak) you have eliminated a great deal of the inner turmoil and stress that often goes with leaving a place behind. The task, then, becomes the challenge of taking inventory of yourself in terms of what makes you like (and DISlike) any specific geographic location. Does the place feel right, to you?Listening to your inner wisdom is also important when it comes to your overall decision for moving– at least in terms of trying to figure out the true nature of your restlessness.
